Conflicts are a normal occurrence in every workplace.  Some of these conflicts are easily resolved, while other conflicts quickly escalate in intensity, damaging relationships and making it tough for colleagues to work effectively together.  Still other conflicts slowly simmer under the surface in a way that makes work difficult, awkward, or frustrating.

What if there was a way to steer conflicts away from hostility and dysfunction?

Join us for an interactive workshop in which we provide practical tools that employers and HR managers can immediately use to manage conflict.  This seminar will help employers and HR managers have more meaningful conversations with employees and transform conflict into collaborative and creative problem-solving.

About Our Speaker:

Helen Chen

Helen Chen is a mediator specializing in workplace conflicts and has over twenty years of experience promoting healthy and just workplaces.  As a former employment lawyer, policy advocate, facilitator, and educator, Helen quickly navigates complex workplace dynamics and understands the role that workplace structures and systems can play in either exacerbating conflict or transforming conflict into an opportunity for growth.  As a mediator, Helen assists parties in addressing workplace conflict, improving communications, and jointly resolving disputes.

Prior to opening her own mediation practice, Helen worked at the University of California at Berkeley where she trained and provided guidance to both employees and employers in a wide range of industries on topics including workplace health and safety, mis/classification of workers, sexual harassment, wage and hour, and other employment issues.

Helen received her J.D. from Stanford Law School, M.S. from the University of California at Berkeley, and B.S. from Stanford University.  She is a member of The State Bar of California and The Center for Understanding in Conflict.  She serves on the steering committee of the California Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative.
